Tea

It’s teatime!
In the English Tearoom we respect tea and believe in celebrating teatime! Our range includes everything you need for a nice tea-break or tea party, including kettles which heat the water to the correct temperature for the type of tea you are brewing and teaware which best suit the type of tea you drink. Our scones (delicious with our clotted cream from Rodda’s and available to order) are freshly baked on Saturdays and many of the items in our range of shortbread and biscuits from e.g. Borders, Frank’s Luxury Biscuits, Island Bakery Organics and Artisan Biscuits are unique to us in Germany. Our teas are beautifully packaged, and together with our china and confectionary items make perfect gifts which we are happy to wrap and have delivered for you.

Loose Leaf Tea
We specialise in traditionally produced (orthodox), loose leaf teas. Whether you prefer black, green, oolong, white or pu erh tea, whether you are interested in teas from China, Japan, India, Ceylon, or one of the “newer” tea growing territories, we offer you a choice of carefully chosen teas with full descriptions and brewing instructions. Where available, although not compromising on taste, we have chosen organic and fair-trade teas. Good quality loose leaf tea does not have to be expensive. In particular our green, white and oolong teas represent excellent value in their superior flavour and in the way they improve with multiple infusions. Try our newest tea, The English Tearoom Georgian Blend while it is on special offer.

Teabags
We know that drinking teas made from loose leaves brewed in a teapot is the best way to enjoy a tea to its full potential, but we are also aware that one does not always have the resources to prepare it. For that reason we sell "empty" teabags that you can fill yourself with our finest teas, delicious high quality tea temples from Japan and the beautifully packaged tea pyramids from Tea Forté.

Herbal and Fruit Infusions
Renowned for their therapeutic benefits, many of the tisanes (infusions which do not stem from the tea bush, Camelia Sinensis) at The English Tearoom are free from added aroma and the majority are caffeine free. We are particulary happy that our fruit and herbal infusions come from Ronnefeldt, a company which we consider to be the very best at producing these types of infusions.

Teaware

Using a teapot which is suited to the type of tea you are brewing and drinking from a cup which gives you pleasure to have in your hand and behold plays a significant role in enjoying tea. We continually seek the most practical and attractive accessories for making and enjoying tea. For black teas the British style teapot is ideal but for teas which can be infused several times we advocate using a smaller vessel. This not only makes the tea better value but in many cases also reveals a much wider variety of tastes than you would experience from just one infusion.

In our online shop we present just a small selection of what we actually have in our Stuttgart boutique. If you can, come and visit us in person. If you can't call by, find out more about traditional and modern Japanese teaware, explore our beautiful range of Royal Albert and Wedgwood along with other famous traditional British brands like Burleigh and Hartley Greens online, and if you don't find what you're looking for, please contact us - if we can get what you are looking for, we're happy to order just for you.
